Mandy Wax
About Me
Mandy is an adult psychotherapist with extensive experience of working with individuals and couples. Her approach is psychoanalytic and psychodynamic, which recognises that hidden feelings and past experiences often inform our behaviour and the way we relate to others. By working relationally and therapeutically, she helps to bring these feelings to the surface and gives them space to transform.
Qualifications & Experience
In addition to her registration as a full clinical member of the UKCP, Mandy is also a member of the BACP and has a first degree in Philosophy and a Masters Degree in Philosophy and Psychoanalysis. She is also a qualified teacher having trained and taught in secondary schools for many years before becoming a psychotherapist.
Mandy has worked in private practice for many years and also has experience of working in the NHS and Mind, as well as other agencies. She is a warm and compassionate therapist with a passion for this work and a genuine desire to help.
She has worked with people from all backgrounds who experience mental and emotional distress. She offers a safe, confidential environment in which difficult feelings can be explored.
She believes that distress arises from our life experiences which are unique to us and by listening closely, aims to help clients find their own solutions. Mandy believes that the strength of healing and recovery lies in the quality of the therapeutic relationship, and she works in both an exploratory and non-judgemental way.
